Kingfisher appoints Shebang for retail event
B&Q parent company Kingfisher has begun working with new agency Shebang Design & Marketing this month.
Kingfisher, the global home improvement retail group, appointed Shebang Design & Marketing to co-ordinate its presence at Reed’s MAPIC retail conference in Cannes.
As well as creating a stand for Kingfisher at the show from 17-19 November, Shebang was tasked with sourcing accommodation, organising a team meeting and two evening events.
The agency was founded earlier this year by Emma Anderson, who was previously marketing and communications manager for international property company Parkridge Holdings.
Anderson co-ordinated Kingfisher’s staff from the UK, France, China, Russia, Poland and Turkey during the three-day event last week.
She said that the Kingfisher project had been a "big help" to Shebang’s success.
"Kingfisher are a major international company, instead of using one of the larger agencies, they have entrusted myself and my freelance creatives to take on this major project for them," added Anderson.
Kingfisher group property director Ian Playford said the event was key for business development.
"This year we appointed Shebang Design & Marketing to manage all aspects from travel and accommodation, to stand design and client hospitality," he said. "By handing this over to experienced event managers, we were able to have confidence in the arrangements and presentation of our brand allowing our directors to fully focus on networking and business generation."
