JYSK Receives Thousands Of Applications For Morocco Stores

In April, JYSK will open the first stores in Casablanca, Morocco. The hiring process is well underway, with over 5,000 applications already received for the available positions.

The stores have yet to open, but there is already great enthusiasm for the job opportunities in Morocco ahead of JYSK’s launch later this year, with the first stores set to open in Casablanca.

"By the end of the year, JYSK expects to have hired 50 new colleagues in Morocco. It is fantastic to see so many applications already, and we are very proud of the interest in working at JYSK, especially in a market where we are not yet well known. We are glad how the people of Morocco have welcomed us – both new colleagues and business partners," says Mikael Nielsen, Executive Vice President of Retail at JYSK.

To begin with, JYSK will open two stores along with a webshop. Plans for additional store openings in Morocco are already in progress.

Training in JYSK Values

So far, 18 new colleagues have been hired in Morocco, including five store managers, two warehouse employees, and 11 administrative staff members for the local head office in Casablanca.

"We are well underway with training and onboarding our new colleagues in JYSK’s values. Fortunately, we are experienced in operating in many countries, and we work with diverse cultures daily, so we understand the importance of embracing differences while implementing the practices we know work at JYSK," says Country Director for JYSK Morocco Igor Raić and continues:

"Our new colleagues in the stores, warehouse, and administration have already undergone training either at the head office in Brabrand, Denmark, or in some of our other JYSK countries, so they are fully prepared to open our first stores in Morocco and lead our soon-to-be colleagues in JYSK’s values."

The hiring process will continue throughout the year as more stores are expected to open.

• A local head office has been established in Casablanca
• The first stores will open in the Casablanca area
• A Dark Store (a small warehouse) will also be established, allowing customers to order the full online assortment
