John Lewis Partnership Recruiting For Over 10,000 Roles
- 8,400 additional seasonal roles to help customers this Christmas
- Further 1,700 roles will also be available across Waitrose and John Lewis
The John Lewis Partnership is recruiting for more than 10,000 roles across the country. This is part of our commitment to delivering exceptional service, no matter when, where, or how our customers prefer to shop with us.
The roles reflect our strong omni-channel presence with vacancies in our Waitrose and John Lewis stores and distribution network. Training in customer experience for which our two brands are renowned will be provided through shops and our dedicated School of Service.*
In Waitrose, we will recruit more than 2,800 seasonal roles across our 329 shops, including supermarket assistants, night shift, and customer delivery drivers. In our 34 John Lewis stores we have over 2,900 temporary roles in sales and merchandising positions.
We’re also recruiting 2,700 seasonal roles in our supply chain through the recruitment agencies we work with, including warehouse operatives and drivers to deliver customers a seamless digital experience on Waitrose.com, John Lewis.com and John Lewis Click and Collect orders.
Head office Partners will also be committing time to supporting our shops and supply chain in the lead up to Christmas through our Helping Hands initiative. Over 5,300 days were provided by head office Partners last year.
In addition to the seasonal temporary jobs, a further 1,700 positions will be available across both Waitrose and John Lewis in a variety of roles over the coming months.
Lisa Cherry, Executive Director, People, at the John Lewis Partnership, said:
“We’re hugely proud of the way our two brands have become part of the excitement that surrounds Christmas and this is a great opportunity to be at the heart of that at such a special time. Our customers are at the forefront of everything we do; we want to deliver a great festive season for them with inspirational products and the very best customer service courtesy of our brilliant Partners.”
Successful candidates will receive a competitive salary and training, with the potential for development opportunities.
Candidates can register their interest in the seasonal shop roles at jlpjobs.com/Christmas with jobs going live throughout September and October. More details on how to apply for supply chain roles through our recruitment agencies can be found here, whilst other roles will be advertised on jlpjobs.com.
Customers can also look forward to the Waitrose Christmas range, which includes more than 140 new products for 2023. John Lewis will launch its Christmas shop online on 31 August and in store on 27 September where customers will be able to choose from a wide range of decorating themes, trees, toys, tableware and gifts. A number of festive customer workshops and events from cocktail masterclasses to tablescaping tips will be available too in the months ahead.
