John Lewis Enhances Online Delivery Services
- Same day delivery available in more major cities
- Deliver to Yodel Store service now free over £30 (formerly known as Collect+ delivered by Yodel)
- Click & Collect available from 72 Dobbies Garden Centres
John Lewis is bringing even more access and convenience to its customers by extending its same day delivery service to more cities after initial success in London.
Customers in Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham can now use the service, which launched in London last August.
Shoppers will be able to order an item online by 10am for delivery between 7pm and 10pm the same evening. All deliveries to customers are made by fully electric vehicles operated by carrier company Stuart.
The service, which costs £9.95 per delivery, has proved most popular for fashion and home accessories.
At the same time we’re further extending our Click & Collect network with the launch of 72 new outlets in Dobbies Garden Centres. This takes the total number of collection points to 5,700.
We’ve also made improvements to our Deliver to Yodel Store service (formerly known as Collect+ delivered by Yodel), making it free over £30. A total of 90% of the UK population now has access to free, next day John Lewis collections within 10 minutes of their home.
After a pause of over two years, we’re also delighted to be restarting deliveries of larger items in Northern Ireland. While we’ve been continuing to deliver smaller items to our Northern Ireland customers, they will now be able to order larger items such as large electrical appliances and furniture.
Eva Cullen, Head of Customer Fulfilment Operations at John Lewis, said:
“We always want to improve the service for our customers and there’s been a real appetite for same day deliveries. With customers using it for purchases of everything from bed sheets to toothbrushes - we are confident this service could have even more potential in the future.”
“We know that our Click & Collect service offers real convenience to our customers so we are delighted to be Partnering with Dobbies Garden Centres to launch 72 new locations.”
