Jewson launches 2nd edition of the 'Sustainable Building Guide'
Following the success of Jewson's award-winning Sustainable Building Guide, the UK supplier of sustainable timber and building materials, has released a second edition.
The new edition includes new products, updates on government incentives and initiatives and a new section on the Greenworks Training Academy. Since launching in November 2010, 60 000 copies of the guide have been picked up by trade professionals – illustrating the need for knowledge in the industry.
Sustainability remains high on Jewson's agenda. The second edition of the guide continues to advise all construction professionals ranging from small to medium builders, contractors and developers on how to adapt day-to-day working practices to ensure a more sustainable build.
It also covers foundations, flooring, walls, insulation, timber, windows, roofs and water management. It also provides advice on a comprehensive range of renewable systems.
Malcolm Gough, market director of sustainability at Jewson, commented: "We are delighted to release our new, updated Sustainable Building Guide. We take pride in guiding our customers through the many new and different types of sustainable materials now available. The guide has also received nearly 5000 viewings online to-date – a reflection of how a firm knowledge of sustainability is still required within the construction industry."
