Insight DIY sponsors New Product Showcase at Totally DIY : Totally Tools

“We are delighted to be working with Insight DIY this year on the shows’ New Product Showcase,” announced show director Paul Grinsell. “With their support we are introducing a ‘Visitor Vote’ for the first time, as well as a panel of judges having their say!”

The team at Insight DIY delivers breaking news stories, market intelligence, data, insight and commentary on the UK Home Improvement and Gardening Industry. They will be featuring exhibitor’s new products in their regular e-news updates and on their website www.insightdiy.co.uk. They will also put together a top team of industry judges from their regular subscribers who will attend the show in February to identify and present the ‘Best in Show’ awards.

This year for the first time the awards will include two new awards; a 'Best, Made in the UK’ product award and a ‘Best Visitor Vote’ award, which will be announced on the final day of the show once all the visitor votes have been collated.

“Buyers and retailers are always keen to see new products and find new ideas that will attract their customers. The New Product Showcase has always been a vital part of the show and the involvement of the Insight DIY team, which includes ex-industry buyers, will give this area a real boost!” commented Paul Grinsell.

Steve Collinge, managing director of Insight Retail Group added, "We are really excited to be the sponsors at Totally 2015 for the New Product Showcase and Awards. New products are the life blood of the industry and we are involved in this showcase to help introduce suppliers and retailers to begin new trading relationships. Together with the team from Totally we have come up with the new ideas of the 'Visitor’s Vote' and the 'Best, Made in the UK' Awards. We will be launching our ' Find A Judge' campaign in the coming weeks and are looking forward to revealing our new judging panel."

Each exhibitor is able to enter up to six new products, or product ranges, for display in the New Product Showcase area and entry into the ‘Best New’ product awards. The award categories are Best DIY Product, Best Hardware Product, Best Decorative Product, Best Tool Product, Best Garden Product and Best Security Product, along with the two new categories announced above.

All entries have to fulfil strict entry criteria including that they should be new to the market or a specific distribution channel; they should be less than one year old; they should be available to order and be shipped in 90 days; the supplier has exclusive distribution of product; they should be available to be judged as finished product and should not just a range extension.

“Our judges will be looking for products that demonstrate their market potential – whether that be niche or a broader appeal; demonstrate innovation, consumer appeal and quality, are available and are responsibly and sustainably sourced. In addition the judges will be looking for a degree of technical and design achievement and value for money!

“It’s a big ask for any new product to hit all these criteria – but we want visitors to the show to be confident that each winning product really is worthy of their attention – and we’ll be helping the winners to get in front of the industry’s leading buyers via our website and e-newsletters,” explained Steve Collinge of Insight DIY.

Totally DIY: Totally Tools take place on February 15, 16 and 17 2015 at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry. For more details go to www.totallydiy.com or www.totallytools.co.uk.
