Independent Flooring Retailer Opens 20th Store

Flooring Superstore.com new opening

A FAST-GROWING independent flooring retailer has bucked the national trend by opening its 20th store in the UK – and its first in London.

Whilst many retailers continue to feel the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, Flooring Superstore is pressing ahead with its growth plans and earlier this month, it opened its 20th outlet in just 3 years.

It has invested £100,000 and created four new jobs with the opening of a 3,500 square foot store in North London.

The store, on the Staples Corner Retail Park in Geron Way, Brent Cross, was officially opened by Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Neil Jones.

It stocks a wide range of flooring, including carpets, vinyl, laminate, real wood, luxury vinyl tiles and the UK’s largest selection of artificial grass. The latter is designed to meet the growing demand from householders for artificial, rather than real, grass.

Flooring Superstore Regional Manager Ian Robinson said: “Flooring Superstore only began trading in 2012 and then we were purely an online brand.

“Now, we have 20 physical stores stretching the length of the United Kingdom, but until this point we didn’t have a presence in the capital, so we are delighted to have finally been able to open a store in London.

“It’s already proving popular with shoppers who like the fact they can get all the flooring they need under one roof, whether it’s wood flooring in the lounge, carpet on the stairs, luxury vinyl tile in the kitchen or bathroom and now, even artificial grass in the garden.”

Flooring Superstore closed all its stores during the Government lock-down but continued to trade online. It experienced one of the busiest periods in its history as people focused on home improvements, having not been able to book foreign holidays or spend money on recreation and leisure activities.

Ian added: “We have opened 20 stores since 2017, and more are planned throughout the rest of 2020 and into 2021.

“We’re committed to supporting the UK retail economy and in particular the areas where we have a presence, investing in these areas and creating jobs for local people.”
