IKEA US Launches Home Solar Offering In California

IKEA believes that a more sustainable life starts at home and wants to make sustainable living accessible and affordable for the many people. Now IKEA U.S. will become the latest Ingka Group market to start making home solar energy solutions easier to access in select locations in the state of California.

“Our vision is to create a better everyday life for the many people, and we believe those lives are truly better when they are lived sustainably,” said Javier Quiñones, CEO & Chief Sustainability Officer, IKEA U.S.. “We are delighted to join the list of global IKEA markets that provide access to home solar and energy solutions, and we will continue to collaborate with our partners to showcase offerings that have a positive impact on people and our planet.”

IKEA wants to build the biggest renewable energy movement together with co-workers, customers, and partners around the world, to help tackle climate change together. 

By offering services beyond home furnishing to enable a better life at home, IKEA wants to make healthier and more sustainable living possible for the many people and enable the use of clean energy in smart and efficient ways. Ingka Group already offers solar solutions in 11 IKEA markets, Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Poland, and Portugal.

IKEA U.S. has teamed up with SunPower, a leading solar technology and energy services provider, to make home solar energy solutions easier to access in select California locations. Members of the IKEA Family customer loyalty program will be able to purchase home solar solutions, available through SunPower®, to generate and store their own renewable energy and live more sustainably.

As the largest IKEA franchisee, Ingka Group continues to roll out its home solar offer to actively contribute to a reduction in the climate footprint of IKEA products, by promoting and selling energy efficient products and those made using renewable and recycled materials to our customers to Inspiring and enable a better life at home.
