IKEA to open Westfield Order and Collection Point at the end of the month
Home furnishing company IKEA today announced that it will open the doors of its new IKEA Westfield Stratford City Order and Collection Point, located in London, from Wednesday 31st August 2016.
Westfield Stratford Central Order and Collection point will be the fourth of its kind to open in the UK this year and the first to open in London. Centrally located in Westfield Stratford City shopping mall, the new 900 square meter unit has been designed to bring the IKEA home furnishing range and expertise closer to more customers.
Order and Collection Points support customers’ shopping experience by giving them a convenient opportunity to engage with IKEA co-workers and ask questions, touch and feel the products and get ideas and inspiration. Acting primarily as a planning studio to plan complex purchases such as kitchens, wardrobes and sofas, IKEA Westfield Stratford Order and Collection Point will also feature the much-loved IKEA room sets providing inspiration and ideas for the home and expert co-workers offering home furnishing knowledge and advice.
Due to its size, the Order and Collection Point will not carry the full product range to take home but customers will be able to order from the IKEA online range for home delivery or for collection at the collection point. In addition a small range of selected “market hall” items will be available for customers to take home on the day of their visit.
IKEA Westfield Stratford Order and Collection Point Manager, Mirco Righetto, said: “We are delighted to be bringing this unique version of IKEA to Westfield. Today, customers in the region shop with us online but they have to travel to other London stores to see the range or get advice from our co-workers. Located within 5 minutes of the train stations and close to major bus routes, IKEA Westfield Stratford City Order and Collection Point will be easy to access by public transport, something that we know is important to many customers who live in London.
We have had a lot of positive feedback for bringing IKEA to the area and so we expect the first few weeks will be quite busy. We look forward to welcoming new and existing customers to the Order and Collection Point over the coming months.”
Myf Ryan, Chief Marketing Officer, Westfield UK & Europe said: “We are thrilled to celebrate the opening of IKEA’s fourth Order & Collection point in the UK at Westfield Stratford City. With over 47 million visitors to the centre each year, we have no doubt that the accessibility of this new IKEA store will be a major draw for our customers. Westfield shoppers are increasingly looking for affordable, authentic and industry leading homes’ selections and we are delighted that IKEA is joining our existing retailers in widening this offer.”
As part of its expansion plans to make IKEA more accessible to many more people, the company will be trialing a number of similar Order and Collection Points across the UK. IKEA Westfield Stratford Central Order and Collection point is the fourth unit to open in the UK.
