Huws Gray Acquires Scottish Brick Company

Leading independent builders merchant Huws Gray Group continue their ambitious growth plans with the acquisition of West Lothian based merchant Brick and Stone (Scotland) Ltd. 

Established in 1999 and based at a single location in Broxburn, West Lothian, Brick and Stone (Scotland) Ltd supply a wide range of facing and reclaimed bricks, blocks, and walling and the branch will join the groups already established network of Specialist Brick Centres in Llay and Warrington. 

Eddie Hernon, Managing Director of PDM Buildbase, a Huws Gray Group company, commented: “We are delighted to add our first specialist brick centre in Scotland and are truly optimistic for what the future holds.  To acquire a company with such a specialised focus presents a great opportunity to deepen our knowledge of this category and grow our business within the region.” 

Director of Brick and Stone (Scotland) Ltd, Mark Findlay, added “We are excited for the future and, along with fellow director, Ian White, we look forward to remaining with the business and supporting the next phase of growth.  It’s very much business as usual as we look to improve stock levels with the support of the group.” 

Following the acquisition of the Grafton Group plc’s GB merchanting businesses the group now includes: Buildbase, PDM Buildbase, Civils and Lintels (C&L), NDI, The Timber Group, Bathroom Distribution Group, Lloyd Worrall.
