Homebase To Close Preston Docks Store

Staff working at a Preston Homebase store have been told that it will close before the end of the year.

Homebase is understood to have told staff that the Preston Docks store on Mariners Way will shut on 18th December.

Staff at the branch have said that they believe value retailer B&M is taking on the unit, which is located between McDonald's and Morrisons. Other stores near the unit include DFS, Mothercare, Pets at Home, Bensons for Beds and Halfords. 

If the rumour is accurate, B&M will have four stores in the Preston area.

Local press LancsLive approached Homebase for comment on potential job losses, and received the following response: "our focus is supporting our team members over the next few months".

“Our store in Mariners Way, Preston will be closing on the 31 December 2020 and our focus is supporting our team members over the next few months," 

"Until then, customers can continue to shop with us in-store."
