Homebase to close Hereford store

HOMEBASE has confirmed it is to close its Hereford store.

The city branch of Homebase, on Three Elms Road, will shut early next year.

In a statement the company said: “Following a consultation with colleagues over the past few weeks, Homebase can confirm it is closing its store in Hereford on January 19.

“Discussions are taking place with colleagues to identify alternative working opportunities wherever possible within Home Retail Group.”

The news follows the imminent closure of Hereford’s Rockfield Store after 50 years of trading in the city.

The independent home, garden and DIY store in Station Approach will shut soon after father and son owners Leon and James Wolverson sold the site to Herefordshire Council.
