Homebase Partners With Reconomy For Net Zero Waste Target
Homebase has partnered with Reconomy to announce its aim to send zero waste to landfill by 2021.
The home improvement and garden retailer has also announced a long-term ambition to achieve net zero waste.
The three-year contract with waste management company Reconomy will cover Homebase’s 168 stores and three distribution centres in the UK and Ireland.
It will see Reconomy provide recycling and sustainability training and support to Homebase’s 7,500 team members.
Sarah Taitt, director of property, procurement, and productivity at Homebase, said: “We’re committed to reducing our impact on the environment and to helping our customers make sustainable choices in their own homes and gardens.
“By working together with Reconomy, we’ll have a greater impact on the communities in which we operate, as well as our overall environmental contribution.”
