Homebase confirms date for Barrow store closure
Homebase has now confirmed the date for the closure of a Barrow store.
Homebase, which is owned by the Home Retail Group, announced in autumn last year that it would be closing a number of stores nationwide.
The business has now confirmed that the Barrow store will close on March 28.
A spokeswoman refused to confirm how many members of staff work at the store, but it is believed that up to 30 jobs will be lost. A spokeswoman said: “Following a consultation, Homebase can confirm that its store in Barrow-in-Furness will close its doors on 28 March 2015.
“Discussions are being held with colleagues to find alternative employment both within and outside of Home Retail Group.”
