Homebase backs Teenage Cancer Trust with Christmas push
Every Homebase store across the country will be hoping to raise hundreds of pounds each for Teenage Cancer Trust next weekend by taking part in a national Christmas collection fundraiser.
All Homebase stores will be getting into the festive spirit by inviting Teenage Cancer Trust fundraising volunteers to don their Santa hats and tinsel and collect donations.
Staff and volunteers, will also encourage customers to decorate the in-store Christmas tree with Christmas wishes and festive good tidings in return for a £1 donation.
For those customers that might miss the special festive fundraising weekend they can also post their Christmas wishes on the Homebase Facebook page.
Running from the December 8 to 24, for every Christmas tree or decoration picture uploaded on to the page, Homebase will donate £1 to Teenage Cancer Trust.
All proceeds raised during the Homebase Christmas Collection will support young people with cancer across the UK.
The money will help Teenage Cancer Trust fund, build and maintain specialist units within NHS hospitals that are designed to feel like a home-from-home and give young cancer patients the very best quality of life and chance of a positive outcome.
Last year Homebase colleagues selected Teenage Cancer Trust as their official charity partner until February 2013.
As Teenage Cancer Trust does not receive any government funding, this partnership is invaluable for the charity, in just one year of the partnership, Homebase employees have already raised a staggering £1million.
If you are interested in lending Teenage Cancer Trust a hand at a Homebase store during the 10 and 11 December please contact christmascollection@teenagecancertrust.org or call 020 7612 0370.
