Homebase annual golf day raises more than £41,000
An annual golf day at Woburn, hosted by Homebase, saw a staggering £41,025 raised for Teenage Cancer Trust.
A total of 168 players in 42 teams, made up of Homebase colleagues and suppliers, teed off against each other to win the coveted Homebase trophy before they were joined at dinner by Homebase managing director Paul Loft and retail and distribution director Graham Heald.
One of the day’s fundraising highlights was a golf pin flag signed by renowned British golfer Ian Poulter, which went on to raise £350.
Homebase colleagues made the day even more interesting by organising quirky competitions, such as measuring the longest drive and shots that were closest to the hole.
Event organiser Paul Housego, said: “This year’s golf day was a fantastic success. The sun shone all day and the championship courses at Woburn were in their usual immaculate condition.”
Since the annual golf day started in 2007 it has raised an impressive total of £127,000 for charity.
