Highlights of this year’s Internationale Eisenwarenmesse

The bi-annual Internationale Eisenwarenmesse has been heralded a ‘fantastic event’ and a ‘resounding success’ by organisers, exhibitors, visitors and the entire hardware industry.

Attended by 2,665 companies from 50 countries, with more than 50,000 visitors from 132 states, the four days of the one-of-a-kind global business and innovation platform, held in Cologne, were full of innovation, new contacts and great business.

According to the organisers, exhibitors and visitors, two things were key to the success of the fair: its broad international scope and unique innovative power. Around 80% of exhibitors and around 60% of visitors came from abroad. For Rainer Langelüddecke, Managing Director of the Association of German Tool Manufacturers (FWI), it was a sign that “Cologne has become the essential forum for the industry.”

J. Wolfgang Kirchhoff, Managing Partner of Witte Werkzeuge and Chairman of the Exhibition Committee, is impressed by the innovative capability of the industry: “For us, the trade fair was a huge success in every respect. Making an important contribution was EISEN 2012, an innovation award that underlined the importance of the fair even further.”
