Headlam Group Appoints New COO And Contracts MD

Headlam - the UK's leading flooring distributor

The UK’s leading flooring distributor, Headlam Group, makes two new appointments to its Executive Team as part of its wider strategic transformation plan.

David Rose – Chief Operating Officer

David Rose who joined the Headlam team last year as Operations Transformation Director, has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer, bringing with him over 30-years of senior leadership experience.

In his role as Chief Operating Officer, David will be responsible for Operations, Supply Chain and Rug & Sample Manufacturing, ensuring that Headlam’s buying and promotional plans can be turned into a reality with the right stock in the right place, delivered with quality to customers on time and in full.

David has a proven track record in transforming international and domestic supply chain and logistic operations, with previous executive roles across prominent organisations including UK Flooring Direct, Keswick Flooring, Home Retail Group, Argos and Studio Moderna. As such, he brings significant value to the business as Headlam continues to deliver on its customer-centric strategy.

Chris Sutton - Contracts Managing Director

With over 20 years’ experience in the contract flooring industry, Chris Sutton joins the Headlam team this January as Contracts Managing Director. With impressive expertise in helping organisations build and develop contract businesses both here in the UK and on the Global arena, Chris will be an invaluable asset in driving sector growth.

He comes from Beaulieu International Group where he was Global Sales and Marketing Director, with previous roles including Commercial Director EMEA at Brinton Carpets and other major flooring businesses such as Ege and Mohawk Industries.

With his extensive flooring knowledge, strategic vision, and passion for the contracts market, Chris is set to influence Headlam’s contracts business significantly in 2025 and beyond.

Commenting on the appointments, Headlam CEO Chris Payne said, ‘We are delighted to have David and Chris as part of the team. Both bring invaluable flooring expertise and impressive credentials into the business and are well placed to help deliver our customer-led growth strategy.
