Global DIY Summit 8th Global DIY-Summit Postponed Until 2021

2021 DIY Summit.jpg

For the past few months, we have been closely monitoring the Global Covid-19 situation and assessing the best possible circumstances in which to hold the Global DIY Summit. We are paying particular attention to this as it affects the vast majority of our participants who are unable to travel due to restrictions decreed by Governments.

While EU Authorities implement and require the highest levels of medical measures and hygiene protocols for travel, we feel that the delivery of our world-class international event will inevitably be impacted by such travel restrictions if we were to hold it this year.

With this in mind, and following close consultation with our event partners, key stakeholders and hosts, we have taken the decision to postpone the 8th Global DIY Summit by one year. The new dates for the 8th Global DIY Summit are 9 to 11 June 2021 and this event will be held at Bella Centre Copenhagen. We feel this is the best course of action to protect and ensure the health of all the delegates and sponsors taking part in our event.

Moreover, by opting to defer the event one year we believe that we will be in a better position to deliver the Global DIY-Summit at full capacity, offering our event partners and participants the value and international exposure they have come to expect from us.

The change of venue, from RAI Amsterdam to Bella Centre Copenhagen, is due to availability during these dates and, most importantly, to have the necessary space available in case we need to offer you an event compliant with all social distancing measures.

Since its first edition 10 years ago, the Global DIY Summit has been the world’s major event for retailers and manufacturers from the home improvement and garden centre industry. This congress is jointly organised by the leading non-profit home improvement organisations: EDRA (European DIY-Retail Association) HIMA (Home Improvement Manufacturers Association) and GHIN (Global Home Improvement Network), all together representing over 1500 companies throughout the world.

In order to continue offering this important and anticipated event for our industry, all tickets and sponsorships for the Global DIY Summit 2020 will automatically be valid for the rescheduled event. This way all partners will not be affected by this decision and will enjoy the full service at a later date, including an online networking platform which will be  launched this year in early October. This online service will allow all delegates and partners to attend online seminars, masterclasses, download studies, contact and schedule 1:1 video calls with other attendees. More information about this platform will be sent to you in the next weeks.

We are convinced that with the joint efforts of organizers, sponsors and delegates we will be able to overcome this unforeseen situation, reinvent ourselves, and will be in a better position to deliver an outstanding edition of the 8th Global DIY Summit 2021.

Please contact the Global DIY Summit Delegate Team if you have any questions or concerns about the change of date. We will of course continue to monitor the situation over the coming months and should any of the circumstances change we will be in touch with updates.

We look forward to bringing our world-class event to Copenhagen in June 2021, with the full support of our delegates, speakers, and sponsor community.

Thank you for your support and understanding.

Kind regards,
John W. Herbert -Co-Founder & Chairman
