Garden Centre Sales Boost In February

Garden centre gardening sales broke all records in February 2021 with sales booming to near Bank Holiday levels during the last week of the month. 

The GTN Bestsellers All Sales index for the month was up by 37% on last year, and up by 37% on the average of all the previous 10 years. And that’s without any footfall for restaurants and coffee shops and all the gifting sales that usually generates.

While we know many centres got ahead of the game with getting stock in early, this unseasonal rush through the tills could start to see new pressure on orders and supplies for Easter and the Summer Bank Holidays. Let’s hope the supply issues with containers are resolved by then!
