Focus attracts range of interested buyers
Administrators for the collapsed Focus DIY chain have said they are talking to a “significant number of parties” regarding a sale of the business as a going concern.
The administrators said that Focus was continuing to trade at all stores and it was very much business as usual. Product offerings were being replenished and the majority of suppliers were showing their support for the continued trading.
Simon Allport, Joint Administrator said: “Stores have been trading at record levels, and well above budget, over the last week, and continue to offer very competitive prices across the full product range.”
He added: “We have received a fantastic level of interest in the business and will continue to seek offers for the sale of the business.”
A number of parties are reported to be interested in buying the Focus business including Wickes, Dunelm, The Range and restructuring firm GA Europe. Kingfisher, the owner of B&Q, acquired up to 31 of the Focus stores for £23 million last week.
