Excitement in Armley as B&M opens latest new store

B&M Armley

There was plenty of excitement in Armley on Friday 14th July as a new B&M Bargains store, with garden centre, was opened.

It becomes the latest addition to the stores in the Yorkshire region and it will no doubt come as a huge boost to the local economy thanks to 50 jobs being created.

Visitors to the store, based on a small retail park alongside Farmfoods, will be able to browse a wide range of branded and own label goods, including toys, groceries, health & beauty and pet ranges.

The new store also features a large garden centre attachment.

As part of the opening day celebrations, B&M colleagues invited along a local charity, Simon on the Streets, to be their VIP for the day – with the charity also receiving £250 worth of B&M vouchers as a thank you for taking part.

Simon on the Streets, which was founded in 1999, provide a vital role of being someone who those that have nowhere else to turn, can turn to for unconditional support.

They are a group of people who show interest in people in need in a respectful, tolerant and empathetic manner aimed at empowering them to improve their self image and begin to think about making positive changes in their lives.

The store manager, Victoria Parker, said: “We’re delighted that we’ve been able to create more jobs for local people, as well as help a local charity.

“The team from Simon on the Streets really stood out for us as they go the extra mile for the homeless, we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they do.

“We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”

She also commented: “The new team have been working really hard to get the store ready for opening day and we can’t wait to get the doors open Friday and show customers their new B&M Armley.”
