Evergreen Garden Care Expands Its Growing Media Category

Evergreen New Peat Free Montage

In line with Evergreen Garden Care's commitment to environmental sustainability, the company is on track to become 100% peat-free within the Miracle-Gro® brand by 2024, followed by Levington® at the end of the same year. To complete the existing peat-free range, three new products are being introduced for gardeners seeking effective and eco-friendly solutions. The new launches include top-quality soils for Miracle-Gro® and Levington®, expansion of the Levington® bark range, new Peat-Free offerings and new product sizes.

The new products being released for the 2024 season include Levington® Peat Free Ericaceous Compost, Levington® Peat Free Rose, Tree & Shrub Compost, Levington® Peat Free Multi-Purpose Compost and Miracle-Gro® Peat Free Premium Fruit & Vegetable Compost with Organic Plant Food. These blends, crafted from composted bark, loam, green compost, and the proprietary Hatfield Mix, provide gardeners with the perfect tools for planting roses, azaleas, rhododendrons, shrubs, and more.

Alongside the new peat-free offerings, EGC is also introducing new top soil: Enriched Garden Soil from Miracle-Gro® and Levington® Top Soil. With their acquisition of the new 100% peat free manufacturing site in Kirkby earlier this year, EGC now has access and manufacturing capabilities to produce the finest topsoil in the industry. These high-quality soils have been treated to be weed-free, offering gardeners a super-fine, dark sandy loam that is enriched with organic nutrients and perfect for revitalizing soil in beds and borders, providing optimal conditions for plant growth.

The third addition to EGC’s growing media category is three new Levington® bark products: Levington® Composted Bark, Levington® Decorative Mini Chipped Bark, Levington® Decorative Bed &Border Bark and Levington® Landscape Bark. These additions to the range provide gardeners with a variety of options for mulching borders, filling paths, and other garden spaces, while also offering benefits such as weed suppression and water retention.

Finally, the last addition to this category is new pack sizes, to meet the diverse needs of gardeners. These include Miracle-Gro® Peat Free Premium All-Purpose Compost in 75 litres, Miracle-Gro® Peat Free Premium Rose, Tree & Shrub Compost in 20 litres, Miracle-Gro® Peat Free Premium Azalea, Camellia, Rhododendron Ericaceous Plants Compost, Miracle-Gro® Peat Free Moisture Control Compost in 20 litres and Levington® Peat Free Multi Purpose Compost with added John Innes in 40 litres. The expanded size options ensure that every gardener can find the right fit for their specific requirements.

Jane Hartley, EGC’s UK Brand Portfolio Manager, comments: "We have been working hard to deliver innovation that caters to the evolving needs of our consumers. Our new product range not only aligns with our category vision but also reflects our commitment to the environment and going completely peat-free by 2024. With the introduction of high-quality soils, expanded bark options, and the completion of our peat-free offering, we are confident that these products will empower gardeners to achieve amazing results.

"Evergreen Garden Care continues to lead the way in providing innovative plant care solutions, and the launch of these new products further solidifies its position as a trusted partner for gardeners seeking effective options.
