Euro Quarter Final Retail Spend To Reach £311.5m

Retail and hospitality spending is predicted to hit £419.5m during the UEFA Euro 2024 Quarter-Finals, which kick off on Friday 5th July, a new report reveals.
The Men’s UEFA Euro 2024 Spending Report by VoucherCodes.co.uk, the UK’s most trusted savings site, forecasts that 24.8m supporters will tune in to watch the Three Lions either at home, or at bars, pubs, and restaurants as the team battle to keep their place in the tournament.
Of the total viewers,18.9m (80%) are set to tune in from the comfort of their own homes. As a result, total retail spending during this stage of the tournament is set to reach £311.5m, as fans stock up on matchday essentials to cheer England on. Retailers can expect food and drinks sales to make up the majority of sales at an estimated £214.2m.
In preparation for the games, consumers are also expected to spend £35.3m on sportswear, £22.1m on merchandise, and £12.2m on garden cooking products such as pizza ovens, BBQs, and BBQ accessories and utensils as they look to make the most of the summer weather.

Despite retailers seeing the largest portion of spend, hospitality venues are set to generate a staggering £108m in sales as they welcome 14.8m visitors through their doors during the highly anticipated Quarter-Finals. Breaking this expenditure down further, an estimated £67.4m will be spent on drinks and £40.6m on food.
During the match against Switzerland football fans are set to consume a whopping 13.4m pints alone, with 800,000 expected to visit fan zones to watch the game.
