Dwell to open two new stores later in the year
Dwell plans to open two new stores this autumn in Tollcross, Glasgow and New Malden, Surrey, marking the start of a nationwide expansion strategy for the brand and representing a 40% increase in footprint for the company in the UK.
Reflecting the latest retail trends, the new concept stores will offer customers "a more immersive shopping experience", developed in partnership with leading retail design experts. They will feature bespoke interiors evoking "contemporary apartment living", with on-trend colours reflecting the latest season’s collection, polished concrete floors and the latest in retail lighting. The new stores will also incorporate built-in displays for products such as mattresses.
Situated just off London Road in Glasgow with easy access from the M74 and M8, the 6500 sqft Tollcross store will open this August bank holiday weekend (29th August), and will be followed in early September by the 4500 sqft New Malden branch, which will be part of the Shannon Retail Park off the A3.
Both benefitting from free parking facilities, the Tollcross and New Malden branches will also offer Dwell’s Click & Collect service.
Dwell’s founder Aamir Ahmad comments: “We believe that stylish, contemporary design can be affordable, and we want to show customers how easy it is to get the lifestyle they aspire to. We’re confident that customers will be impressed when they come in and see something fresh, unique and inspiring from Dwell.
“We know from our online and catalogue channels that we have a lot of customers in Glasgow and the South London/Surrey areas, so it made sense to kick off our expansion plans in these locations. We hope to roll out another six to eight stores next year.”
The DFS-owned Dwell brand currently operates from five branches – three in central London, one in Manchester, and another in Glasgow city centre.
