Dunelm reports sales growth of 9.3%
Dunelm has risen above the retail gloom to report revenues for the year to 2 July of £538.5 million, up 9.3% on the previous year.
Total sales in the fourth quarter were up 11% to £123.8 million and like-for like-sales rose 1.9%.
Chief Executive Nick Wharton said: “Our focus on constantly improving our customer offer has allowed us to gain market share while expanding gross margins; at the same time our future growth prospects have been enhanced through strengthening the pipeline of new stores and the continuing development of our multi-channel footprint."
He added: "The combination of satisfactory trading and a disciplined approach to operating costs means that the Board anticipates that profit for the year will be in line with current market expectations."
The homeware retailer said it had opened ten new stores throughout the year and planned to open a further 13. Dunelm currently has 103 UK stores and would like to grow this number to 200.
