Crown Trade Launches Clean Air Paint For Commercial Projects

Crown Trade Clean Extreme Clean Air - White 725

Crown Trade is strengthening its commitment to sustainable decorating with the launch of a new air purifying paint.

Crown Trade Clean Air is the latest edition to the brands flagship Clean Extreme range and is ideal for commercial projects, where environmental regulations like BREEAM and LEED are important.

Without compromising on quality, the formula contains innovative air purifying technology that absorbs formaldehyde, helping to improve the air quality in a room from the very first coat.

Formaldehyde is a chemical found in things like new flooring and furniture and can cause health implications such as skin rashes, shortness of breath, wheezing and changes in lung function.

The paint, which has been expertly developed by Crown’s in-house technical team, is also 99% free of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

VOCs are chemicals used in the production of a wide range of materials, including building materials like paint and varnishes as well as aerosol sprays and cleaning products. The chemicals vaporise and are emitted into the air. As well as contributing to air pollution they can have negative health impacts and, in some cases, can even cause damage to the liver, kidneys, or central nervous system.

Clean Air is also equipped with Crown Trade’s unique breatheasy ®, 99% solvent free technology that limits exposure to airborne triggers of asthma and allergies, for a healthier build environment.

As well as the brand new Clean Extreme Clean Air, the Clean Extreme range includes:

Clean Extreme Stain Resistant: Offering the most effective durability and longevity that allows repetitive cleaning with the added benefit of excellent stain resistance. It’s 100% more stain and scuff resistant than standard emulsion paints.

Clean Extreme Mould Inhibiting: With a dual-purpose solution that is stain resistant and defensive against mould growth, Clean Extreme Mould Inhibiting is ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, and empty properties. It features an extreme fungicidal barrier defence whilst providing superior stain resistance for new and aged stains.

Clean Extreme Anti-Bacterial: A dual-purpose solution that is stain resistant and defensive against bacteria, the formula features independently tested technology that fights bacteria including MRSA and E.coli.

Kathryn Tormay, Head of Product at Crown Trade said: “We’re determined to provide decorators with quality products that offer specialist solutions, but don’t compromise on application and finish.

“Our latest addition to the range, Clean Extreme Clean Air is perfect for decorators working on larger commercial projects. It will help minimise the environmental impact of a job, meeting BREEAM and LEED standards required for tenders, while offering the level of durability and opacity that professional decorators need.”

The entire Clean Extreme range is available in Scrubbable Matt and Acrylic Eggshell for a matt or subtle mid-sheen finish.

Clean Extreme Clean Air can be specified for commercial projects now. Get in touch with your local Crown Trade sales rep for more information.

The launch of Crown Trade Clean Air comes as the business continues to focus on driving forward sustainability across the entire decorating process.  From manufacturing, where Crown has ambitions to achieve Net Zero and send 0% of waste to landfill by 2025, alongside creating a circular economy for paint, with over 1 million cans recycled by partner Nimtech in 2022.
