Claire Chapman takes a seat in Kingfisher Boardroom
The retail group has recruited the NHS’ Director General of Workforce to its board.
Clare Chapman will serve as a Non-Executive Director at Kingfisher, the group behind retail brands such as B&Q and Screwfix. She also serves as an NED at TUI Travel, and is the Chairman of the travel operator’s remuneration committee.
Chapman was appointed to her current role at the NHS in 2007 and is responsible for a workforce of more than two million people. Prior to this, she held the position of Group HR Director at Tesco for seven years and acted as HR Vice President of Pepsi Cola’s West and Central European operations for five years.
Ian Cheshire, Group Chief Executive, Kingfisher, comments “I am delighted to welcome Clare to Kingfisher, where her experience in talent management and people development will be invaluable. With over 80,000 employees in eight countries Kingfisher already has a wealth of talent. Clare’s human resources background in large, international retail and consumer groups, as well as her more recent experience in the NHS, will help us make the most of our potential as we seek to take Kingfisher to the next stage of its development.”
