Chepstow Homebase to Close in April

It has been confirmed that Chepstow Homebase will close later this year.

The Beaufort Park store - which was not on the list of planned Homebase closures - will shut its doors for the final time on April 11th after the company decided not to renew the lease, following negotiations with the landlord.

No details have been given as to how many redundancies will be made.

Locals believe that the store will become an Aldi supermarket, with one resident telling South Wales Argus: "This is very disappointing news and I hope the site doesn't stay empty for long. It would be perfect for a supermarket like Aldi. There's been rumours in the town that they are looking for a site to open a store in."

In recent weeks, Southend Homebase has reopened after successful negotiations with the landlord and a development company has revealed plans to demolish New Malden Homebase and replace with residential property.
