Buildiro Direct Launches Consumer Version Of App For UK DIYers
Buildiro Direct, which has over 20,000 items in stock from DIY items like paint or garden tools will go live on Friday 1 May to deliver products direct to people’s homes in less than three hours within Greater London. Available online at http://buildiro.com, Buildiro Direct is aimed at DIYers who perhaps have limited choice of retailers nearby or who want to limit their time outside the home but still want a choice of products from multiple merchants and an opportunity to price check.
With Buildiro Direct, there are no wasted journeys to retailers only to find lack of stock. The service will be able to deliver within a 90-minute timeframe although during lockdown it is currently offering a three hour option. Buildiro Direct operates Monday – Saturday 8am – 4pm and Sunday 9am – 2pm on items which will typically be under 12kg in weight and fit on a motorbike or small van.
“This is traditionally the time of year when the UK turns to DIY and gardening but this has been made much more challenging. Having worked on Buildiro for some time, it seemed like a good time to extend it to the general public” explains founder Luke Polach.
Buildiro Direct’s consumer facing site comes on the back of a successful launch aimed at tradespeople and merchants. Back in September 2019 Luke, who had run his own building business in the UK (between 2013 and 2017) returned to the UK to launch Buildiro, the world’s first mobile app for tradespeople to help them solve the challenge of knowing stock availability eliminating wasted time spent driving to merchants to source items. Then in January 2020, Buildiro Direct was launched delivering those crucial, small, missing items to tradespeople within London.
“We always knew Buildiro Direct had a consumer benefit which was that clients of these tradespeople were delighted not to have their builders leave them whilst they went off to source missing items. There are no building projects happening but there are still home improvements that people want to undertake themselves and this is where Buildiro Direct can help” said Polach.
Buildiro Direct is available at http://buildiro.com from 1 May and is expanding its list of stock each week. Merchants selling essential DIY products are welcome join and sell through the Buildiro platform.
Buildiro Direct was born from the Buildiro.com marketplace with over 500k products offered by many stores allowing tradespeople to check availability and price check.
