Builders Warehouse Brings Transactional Website To Kenya

It has been a month since Africa’s leading retailer of home improvement and building material products and service solutions arrived in Kenya. In this short period, Builders Karen Waterfront has affirmed that Kenyans are ready for an alternative offering by showing their preference for unique products.

Kenya, also known as “Silicon Savannah” owing to its progressive digital economy, is the first country outside of South Africa where Builders has setup shop and simultaneously opened online retail. This is also the first time that Massmart (Builders’ parent company) has been able to offer Mpesa payments for online transactions.

The website - www.builders.co.ke - is mobile responsive making it simple for customers to browse and shop from their device of choice, a desktop, tablet or mobile phone. “We are working to get all our products that are available in-store onto our website and over the coming months we will have all our products live and available for local delivery,” said Jean Ochse, Builders Commerce Executive.

At present, all online transactions are fulfilled in-store and customers have the option to collect purchases within 90 minutes if an order is placed during working hours or overnight if an order is placed after 15:00.

The renowned Builders box-format store, based in Karen Waterfront, covers almost 10 000 m2 of trading and dispatch space along with a garden center carrying an extensive product range of building materials and home improvement requirements for flooring, paint, sanware, kitchens, lighting, electrical, appliances, garden, and much more.

Builders caters for everyone, from the renovation enthusiast and homeowner, to the small business owner and commercial contractor. A host of services such as paint tinting and mixing, glass cutting, kitchen design, pool water analysis and others are also available in-store.
