B&Q, one of the largest retailers in the UK, received two awards in recognition of its Transforming B&Q campaign. The firm was given Best Single Campaign and Best Strategy honours at the Institute of Internal Communication awards ceremony, accolades B&Q received due to the major impact that campaign has had on its drive to improve employee engagement.
According to Liz Bell, B&Q director of human resources, the awards symbolise the incredible achievement on behalf of the company, particularly the Internal Communications team, which has worked incredibly hard to improve the levels of engagement with its 30,000 employees in its many stores around the country, as well as at B&Q’s Store Support Office. She went on to say that the feedback the company has received as a result of the initiative, as well as the financial rewards the company has enjoyed, reinforce the notion that B&Q is on the right track with its Transforming B&Q program.
B&Q was founded in 1969 and is the largest do-it-yourself retailer in Europe and third largest in the world. The company has enjoyed other industry-recognised accolades in addition to the Best Single Campaign and Best Strategy honours, as it has been given the Gallup Great Workplace award every year for the past four years.
