B&Q To Open New Hertfordshire Store

B&Q is to open a new store on the site of a former gasworks owned by National Grid in Hertfordshire.
Three retail units are being built on the Griffiths Way, St Albans, site on behalf of Consolidated Property Group.
Aldi and Costa Coffee will complete the line-up on the new development, which is expected to open next summer.
B&Q's building is to be 46,000 sq ft in size; Aldi's unit will be 19,000 sq ft, and Costa Coffee's space will cover 2,200 sq ft.
The £9 million development is adjacent to Abbey View Retail Park, which offers retailers including Sainsbury’s, Matalan and Pets at Home.
Alan Shadbolt, group commercial director at Midlands-based MCS Group, said: "CPG is delivering a high quality retail park on a site that has been in real need of redevelopment, bringing new jobs and investment to St Albans.
"We are very pleased to have been awarded the contract and are excited to be working alongside CPG and architects Fletcher Rae to create an excellent new retail destination surrounded by well-known stores and supermarkets."
