B&Q to launch new lily species at RHS Chelsea Flower Show
To celebrate the launch of The B&Q Sentebale Forget-Me-Not Garden at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show, B&Q is unveiling the arrival of a brand new species of lily to the UK, as part of its Chelsea Collection.
The collection of flowers and plants from B&Q aim to help customers re-create Chelsea at home and the limited edition exclusive Chelsea Lily will be the first of its kind in the UK. The new species is whiter than other Lilies and has been developed to grow bigger flower heads and will retail at £10. Available from the 13th May in B&Q stores across the UK, excluding N.Ireland, the flower makes up one of six plants that are either featured or inspired by the garden and available to customers.
As well as being able to create a piece of Chelsea at home, customers will also be contributing to Prince Harry’s charity, Sentebale, which was set up by the Prince in 2006 in memory of his mother and the Prince Seeiso of Lesotho’s mother, Queen Mamohato Bereng Seeiso. B&Q has partnered with the charity for the 100th RHS Chelsea Flower Show to help raise awareness of the charity and 20 per cent of each sale will go to the charity, whose aim is to help needy and vulnerable children in Lesotho, many of whom are victims of extreme poverty and Lesotho’s HIV/AIDs epidemic.
