B&Q Reviews Advertising Account

B&Q is looking for a new creative agency after five years with its incumbent provider, Engine.

The home improvement retailer is conducting the search itself and is understood to be in talks with several potential agencies.

Engine, formerly known as WCRS, has held the contract since 2014.  Karmarama handled the account for the two years prior, having been in competition with WRCS for the business. McCann London held the account for the three years before WRCS.

While Engine is not believed to be re-pitching, it will still maintain links with the home improvement retailer as Andrews Aldridge - part of Engine - was awarded B&Q's CRM account in 2016.

A spokeswoman for B&Q said: "We have been meeting with a small number of creative agencies to identify a creative lead agency for 2020."

Earlier this year, Homebase appointed Atomic London to handle its creative work. Last month, Bathstore followed suit, having been acquired out of administration by Homebase in July.
