B&Q looks to boost customer loyalty with new app
DIY store shoppers will now be able to redeem discounts via mobiles.
B&Q has announced the B&Q Club app, which has been designed on the back of research from Google that shows 64 per cent of UK smartphone owners use their devices when in-store.
With that in mind, the home improvement chain wants the app to make shopping easier for loyal customers and will enable them to redeem points and offers through their mobiles without the need for using traditional paper forms.
Grapple has developed the app, which will be available for more than 690,000 B&Q Club members. The DIY company will look to add point of sale scanners into stores later in the year to speed up the process, though staff will be required to manually enter barcode numbers until then.
App users will receive deals via push notifications, which can be shared via Facebook and Twitter. There will also be the chance to win £10,000 each month, while there will be a limited chance to win £30,000 until Sunday, February 24th.
Steve Clark, financial & business services GM at B&Q, said: "We are proud to launch the B&Q Club app that offers a quick and convenient way for our loyalty scheme members to take advantage of the very latest offers and deals from the club.
"We are acutely aware of how our customers are feeling the pinch and this is one way in which we can reward their loyalty and help make that hard earned cash go a little further."
The app is available on Android and iOS from the B&Q website.
