B&Q expands e-giftcards partnership with CashStar

CashStar, the digital gifting company preferred by the world’s leading brands, today announced that B&Q, the largest home improvement and garden center retailer in the UK and Europe, will empower its B2B customers to order bulk quantities of personalized eGift Cards through the CashStar platform.

B&Q is the third largest home improvement and garden center retailer in the world, with more than 360 stores in the UK and Ireland, and 60 international locations. B&Q began its partnership with CashStar in 2012, selling eGift cards directly to consumers. The program generated 100 percent incremental sales with customers purchasing and sending multiple gifts a day during the holiday season. Based on this overwhelming success, B&Q is expanding its partnership with CashStar to extend its eGift card program to its B2B partners.

“Our CashStar-powered eGift program is a major revenue generator and competitive differentiator for B&Q, especially during the busy holiday season, so adding the B2B platform was an easy decision,” explained Stuart Lawrence, Business Services Manager, B&Q. “We are excited to enable our partners to build on existing customer relationships and create new ones with personalized eGift cards. Our partners will now get to experience the ease of delivery and ROI benefits that we have seen over the past year.”

Key benefits of B&Q’s CashStar B2B program include:

- A convenient Web interface that makes the ordering process simple, quick and secure for B&Q partners;
- The ability for partners to enter recipient information one at a time, upload a spreadsheet of addresses, or simply order quantities of eGift cards of specific denominations;
- Making B&Q eGift Cards available to third-party distribution channels via the CashStar API; and
- B&Q retains complete control over all financial transactions and customer relationships.

“B&Q is a pioneer in the home improvement industry, so we are happy to see that they are expanding their partnership with CashStar to the B2B platform,” said Ben Kaplan, CEO of CashStar.

“As we enter the key holiday season we look forward to delivering a seamless experience for the retailer’s partners so they too can open up new revenue channels, deepen customer relationships and build new ones through digital gifting.”

Since expanding into the UK last year, CashStar has become the largest operator of consumer eGifting programs for retailers outside of North America. In addition to its digital gifting platform, CashStar provides each brand with its fraud management system, comprehensive reporting, and personal customer care.
