B&Q Energy Saving Initiative to launch in stores in October
In October this year B&Q will introduce a new energy saving initiative, initially across ten stores, providing customers with advice on how to improve energy efficiency in their homes and explaining how to save money while doing so. The service will be rolled out to additional stores in 2013.
Energy saving products, an installation service and aftercare, payment advice and free home assessments will be available to customers, who will also be able to take advantage of a dedicated call centre and an online help desk.
Martyn Phillips, CEO of B&Q UK & Ireland explained: "We’ve been carrying out independent trials, working with experts in energy efficiency and invested in new products, services and training to ensure that B&Q is the best place to come for energy saving advice this autumn. We even bought our own two up two down terrace and saved £100 a month in energy bills to be in the best position to independently advise customers on how much money can be saved through reduced energy bills."
To provide the service, B&Q has partnered with iQE – a brand developed in conjunction with Loughborough University academics and several leading manufacturers. The product range will include boilers, heating controls, solar thermal equipment, solar PV systems and home insulation products.
