B&M to open in another former B&Q store

B&Q Hartlepool

B&M Retail has announced the opening of another new store inside an old B&Q branch, this one on the Tees Bay Retail Park in Hartlepool.

The store is moving from its current location on the Vision Retail Park near the marina to the location occupied for many years by B&Q and will in the process create 70 new jobs, including the employment of 11 of the former B&Q team

Local charity Hartlepool Families First will officially open the new-look store this Thursday, having been nominated by store staff for £250 of B&M vouchers.

B&M store manager, Adam Beech, said: “The team from Hartlepool Families First really stood out for us as they go the extra mile for the community. We wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they do and hope that our donation can help them to continue to help the community.”

As part of the transformation to B&M, the B&Q store has been completely refurbished both inside and out. Mr Beech added: “The new team have been working really hard to get the store ready for opening day and we can’t wait to get the doors open on Thursday and show customers their new B&M Hartlepool.”

B&M say the store will boast an extensive DIY, decorating and furniture range, as well as its own garden centre. This Saturday 8th April, customers will be invited to enter a Big Prize Bonanza taking place with prizes including a slow cooker, B&M vouchers, Cadbury’s chocolates and much more.

B&M already has another store in Hartlepool, located in the former BHS unit in Middleton Grange shopping centre, which opened last November.
