B&M Opens Two New Stores
B&M has opened two new stores, one in Chepstow and one in Dover.
Chepstow
The Chepstow store opened in a former Homebase unit on Beaufort Park and employs over 80 people from the local area.
As part of the opening day process, colleagues nominated local charity, SARA Rescue, to be given some VIP treatment. They helped unveil the new store in front of happy customers.
The charity is a volunteer lifeboat and inland search and rescue team, they have lifeboat and rescue stations along the length of the River Severn. Their rescue teams provide vital help for people in need. In addition to helping to open the new store, she was given £250 worth of vouchers to spend for the charity.
The store manager, Mike Evans, said: “The team at SARA Rescue really stood out for us as they go the extra mile for local people in the community, we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they do.
“We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
He also commented: “Our new colleagues have been working really hard to get the store ready for opening day, we can’t wait to get the doors open on Wednesday and show customers their brand new B&M.”
Dover
Dover has welcomed its latest B&M store with a brand new location opening on Biggin Street this morning.
Over 40 people from the local area have been employed at the store, adding to the 48 already employed in the Honeywood Retail Park store.
A wide range of branded products are available to purchase, including toys, food & drink, homeware, pet products, health & beauty and seasonal.
Store colleagues nominated local charity, LNLI, to be given some VIP treatment as part of the opening day process. They helped unveil the new store with the Lord Mayor, Cllr Gordon Cowan.
For over 165 years Dover lifeboats have been saving the lives of local people. Today, the station operates the largest lifeboat in the fleet, a Severn class lifeboat. In addition to helping to open the new store, the charity were given £250 worth of vouchers to spend.
The store manager, Di Kelly, said: “The team at RNLI really stood out for us as they go the extra mile for local people in the community, we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they do.
“We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
