B&M opens in Wadebridge

B&M Wadebridge

B&M continued its expansion today as a new bargains store was opened in Wadebridge, creating dozens of jobs.

The latest addition to B&M's portfolio in the region comes as a huge boost to the local economy, creating 45 jobs for people from the area.

Visitors to the store, located on West Hill, will be able to browse a wide range of branded and own label goods, including toys, groceries, health & beauty and pet ranges.

As part of the opening day celebrations, B&M employees invited local charity, Wadebridge Food Bank, to be their VIP for the day, while local Mayor Cllr Tony Rush, was also in attendance.

The team support local people in the community that suffer from food poverty - they supply them with parcels which include a variety of nutritious food that will last for three days.

Volunteers at the charity aim to provide much more than bags of food to those who are hungry in their community. They also provide support, a cup of tea, a warm smile and a listening ear to anyone who needs it, together they want to eradicate food poverty in modern day Britain.

As a thank you for taking part in the opening day proceedings, and for all of their hard work in the local community, the charity received £250 worth of B&M vouchers.

The store manager, Wayne Gillan, said: “We’re feeling really positive about the creation of new jobs for local people and feedback from customers has been great so far.

"A big thank you to Wadebridge Food Bank who helped us open the store on opening morning, we hope that our donation can help them continue the outstanding work they do for the local community.”
