A local foodbank was B&M's VIP guests for the opening of the retailer's very first store in Bournemouth.

The latest B&M store will allow locals to experience the variety retailer’s great selection of branded and own label products.

With everything from toys and homewares to groceries and pet, there’s plenty of items for visitors to the B&M store to shop.

And store staff were delighted to welcome Bournemouth Foodbank as their VIP, who were invited to cut the ribbon on opening day. Offering nutritionally balanced emergency food and support for local people in crisis, the charity's work has never been more important than during the pandemic, and B&M Bournemouth staff wanted to single them out for special praise.

In addition to opening the new store, the charity received £250 worth of B&M vouchers as a thank you for taking part and for all their hard work in the community.

Martin Roberts, B&M's Operations Director, was also in attendance to officially open the new store, and meet with staff and customers.

The store manager, Anup Patel, said: "It was really exciting to welcome customers through the doors this morning, the feedback so far has been fantastic.

"A big thank you to the team at Bournemouth Foodbank who helped us open the store today, we hope that our donation can help them to continue to do the great work they do in supporting the local people."
