B&M opens fourth branch in Ipswich
B&M Retail have opened their third Home Store in Ipswich on the Anglia Retail Park.
The store includes the usual mix of branded and own label ranges including home improvement, groceries, toys and health and beauty.
On the opening day B&M store colleagues invited members of Lighthouse Women’s Aid to be their VIP for the day – with the charity also receiving £250 worth of vouchers as a thank you for taking part. The charity runs a local wellbeing centre in Ipswich where they provide emotional support to women and their children experiencing domestic abuse in their personal or family relationships.
Ashley Wheelhouse, B&M Anglia store manager, said: “The team from Lighthouse Women’s Aid really stood out for us as they go the extra mile for the community – we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they do. “We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
He also commented: “The new team have been working really hard to get the store ready for opening day and we couldn’t wait to get the doors open and show customers their new B&M!”
Also attending the opening day celebrations was Deputy Mayor, Councillor Roger Fern, who gratefully accepted an invitation to attend and help cut the ribbon.
Around 90 jobs have been created as a result of the new B&M, which was previously a Comet store, as the discount, variety retailer continues to expand across the country.
