B&M Goes On An Opening Spree

B&M continues to expand, opening 15 new stores since the start of November, just in time to take advantage of festive trading.

Two new B&M stores opened on Friday 7th December:

One store opened in Leicester's Haymarket shopping centre and the other in a former Homebase unit in Dagenham.  More than 40 jobs were created at the Leicester store, and over 80 at the Dagenham store which has undergone extensive refurbishment.

Three new stores opened on Friday 30th November: 

A former Toys R Us superstore in The Merry Hill Centre, Dudely, has become a new B&M store, creating over 70 jobs, and a further 50 jobs were created when B&M opened in a former Homebase unit in Bradford.  The final store to open on this day was Northumberland's Westmorland Retail Park, which has taken on 40 members of staff.

Two new stores opened on Thursday 29th November:

Lakeland Retail Park in Kendal welcomed a new B&M store on the 29th November, creating 45 new jobs. Around 50 new jobs were also created with the opening of a long-awaited new B&M store in Weston Super Mare.

One new store opened on Wednesday 29th November:

Over 35 new members of staff have been taken on at the new B&M store at Kingsway Retail Park in Rochdale.

One new store opened on Friday 23rd November:

Locals welcomed the addition of a brand new B&M store to Luton Retail Park on Friday 23rd November. The branch has taken on 40 employees.

One new store opened on Thursday 22nd November:

Maryport's new B&M store opened in the town's former Co-Op store, taking on 28 of the original staff and providing a further 15 jobs for local people.

One new store opened on Thursday 15th November:

Eston in Middlesbrough welcomed a B&M store, located on Trunk Road, with 60 new members of staff.

Saturday 12th November - B&M's 600th Store:

B&M reached a 600-store milestone when it opened its new Tonbridge, Kent, store which has been converted from a former Homebase unit.  The B&M team cebrated by giving the first ten customers a golden ticket, one of which was worth £50 in gift vouchers to spend in store.

One new store opened on Friday 9th November: 

The former Co-Op store in Stone's High Street, in Staffordshire has been converted to a new B&M store, creating 40 jobs in the process.

One new store opened on Saturday 3rd November:

Forty new jobs have been created by the opening of a new B&M branch in Nightingale Road, Hitchin.

One new store opened on Thursday 1st November:

The former Co-Op store in Clayton, Bradford re-opened as a new B&M, creating 19 jobs for people from the area, as well as keeping 14 who previously worked for Co-Op.

All the new stores offer a wide range of branded products, including toys, food & drink, homeware, pet products, health & beauty and seasonal.

As part of the opening day process, colleagues nominated local charities to be given some VIP treatment, handing over £250 worth of vouchers to spend in-store.
