B&M Creates 50 Jobs With New Sandbach Store
Customers in Sandbach were delighted this morning following the unveiling of their brand new B&M Store.
Over 50 people from the local area have been employed at the store, which can be found on Old Mill Road.
A wide range of branded products are available to purchase, including toys, food & drink, homeware, pet products, health & beauty and seasonal.
As part of the opening day process, colleagues nominated local hero, Alison Hitchen, to be given some VIP treatment. She helped unveil the new store alongside the Lord Mayor, Cllr Mike Muldoon.
After losing her partner in 2015 to a cardiac arrest, Alison has spent her time fundraising for BHF and was asked to head up a group in Sandbach to work with the local community to support this cause.
In addition to helping to open the new store, she was given £250 worth of vouchers to spend for the charity.
The store manager, Liza Lowson, said: “Alison and the British Heart Foundation really stood out for us as they go the extra mile for local people in the community, so we wanted to give her some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work she does."
She also commented: “Our new colleagues have been working really hard to get the store ready for opening day, so we can’t wait to show customers their brand new B&M.”
Leah Goodhind, BHF fundraising manager for Cheshire, said: “We are so grateful for the support that B&M Sandbach have given us.
“Amazing donations like this mean our local fundraising groups like the one we have here in Sandbach can use the vouchers towards auctions and raffles at upcoming events to help us raise as much money as possible to fund our lifesaving research.
“We couldn’t do what we do without the support of local businesses like B&M.”
