Blue Diamond acquires Polhill's Coton Orchard Garden Centre
The Blue Diamond Group's managing director, Alan Roper, has confirmed that Blue Diamond has acquired Polhill's Cambridge Garden Centre.
The chain is the third largest garden centre retail group in the UK and the Channel Islands and now operates 19 centres.
Blue Diamond's MD, Alan Roper, said of the site, "It's got a lot of potential. It's not going to be a huge destination centre because of planning but it could be a very nice medium-sized centre with an AB1 focus."
The Polhill centre is set within an apple orchard which was originally planted in 1922, and was constructed around ten years ago. In addition to the garden centre, the site also features a farm shop, butcher, restaurant and aquatics store, and is the home of the local Post Office for the villagers of Coton Orchard.
It has been reported that Blue Diamond will announce another acquisition in the very near future.
