Bathroom Compare Insights & Intelligence goes live

Bathroom Compare Portal

After two years in development, IRG, the company behind the Kitchen and Bathroom Compare websites has announced that their Bathroom Compare Insights & Intelligence service has now gone live.

Utilising the pricing data from the 17,000 individual bathroom products, that fuels their Bathroom Compare website, this brand new product is available to both retailers and suppliers alike, providing an unrivalled level of insight into the product, pricing, promotional and consumer review activity across ten of the largest retailers in the Bathroom Industry.

The retailers currently featured include Homebase, B&Q, Wickes, Screwfix, Bathstore, Argos, Victoria Plum, Better Bathrooms.com, Bathrooms.com and Cheap Suites.

IRG Managing Director Steve Collinge said "Retailers and suppliers are recognising that it’s becoming increasingly difficult to keep track of the volume and frequency of retail price changes across the market place and a dynamic, automated tool is critical to maintain share and maximise profitability. A solution tailored to the specific requirements of a retailer can free up valuable internal resource and provide peace of mind that the business is not missing out on profit opportunities or losing market share due to being uncompetitive on key lines.

Whilst there are a number of service providers available, Insight Retail Group is unique in operating solely within the Home Improvement Industry. Our team consists of highly experienced individuals who know and understand the market, the products and the retailers".

The dynamic reporting functions built within the portal, allow users:-

  • Visibility of daily price changes by bathroom product group, by retailer.
  • Visibility of daily new product and range additions/deletions by retailer.
  • Visibility of number of products currently on promotion by retailer.
  • To access up to 12 months pricing and promotional history for every product.
  • To review retailer compliance to CMA and ASA guidelines.
  • Access to the lowest, highest and average price tables by bathroom product group.
  • Access to Category Count Analysis, comparing the number of products by retailer sitting within each bathroom product group.
  • To compare product attributes and consumer reviews across retailers.

Steve Collinge confirmed that more retailers will be added in the coming months, including Bath Empire, Plumbworld, Tesco.com and Victorian Plumbing.

Identical products covering key categories such as Kitchens, Paint, Garden Seasonal, Building & Hardware, Tools and Lighting will follow in the coming months.

Insight provides a host of information I need on many of our company’s largest customers. I use this information regularly with my team, both at a local level as well as with our other international operations. It’s extremely useful when sharing market intelligence information with our corporate office.
