Asda opens its 30th Asda Living store

Asda will open its 30th Asda Living store this weekend, as it continues to tinker with the format.

In 2007 Asda’s official target was to open 150 of the standalone clothes and homeware stores by 2015. But due to the recession, Asda had opened Living stores at a “sensible pace” over the past two years and had been “doing a lot of work with store layouts, following feedback from customers to make it an easier shop,” the spokeswoman added.

Asda has published the following press release in relation to the opening of the Guiseley Living store:

“We’ve opened an Asda Living store at the Westside Retail Park in Guiseley.

Locals Keith and Linda Park cut the ribbon and declared the new store open for business along with colleagues and store manager, Chris Bridgeman.

Keith and Linda won the search to be VIP guests for their voluntary help with the local Cubs, Scouts and Explorer groups. Pupils from Guiseley School Band were also on hand to entertain the waiting crowds.

Our new store offers the very best George clothing, homeware and furnishings, a wide selection of toys, music, DVDs and computer games. There’s also a large cafe with facilities suitable for the whole family.

Chris Bridgeman, store manager, said: “It has been a long time coming, but the whole team was extremely excited to get the doors open and do what we do best which is serving and supporting local communities.”

“I’d like to welcome our new customers to the store and I’m looking forward to meeting as many people as possible during our opening week. I can assure them that our new colleagues will deliver great customer service and we’ll all be happy to help in any way we can.”

“Local residents can also look forward to the launch of our Community Life initiative, which we’ll be announcing in the very near future and aims to support the local community in a number of ways.”

Thank you for the excellent presentation that you gave at Woodbury Park on Thursday morning. It was very interesting and thought-provoking for our Retail members. The feedback has been excellent.
