ASDA Joins B&Q in Eschewing Black Friday
ASDA has confirmed that it will not be engaging in any Black Friday discounting this year but said it will be running a promotion which will offer savings over a longer period, rather than just one day.
Details surrounding the 'deals period' are yet to be revealed by the company.
ASDA opted out of the Black Friday sales in 2016 but participated in 2017.
Last week, B&Q confirmed that it would not be participating in Black Friday, having commissioned research that reinforced the popularity of its everyday low pricing (ELDP) strategy. The research showed that shoppers trust retailers offering year-round low prices far more than those that run frequent sales and occasional offers.
