Argos to open new digital store in Homebase Northampton
The catologue retailer Argos, which already has a store in onSt Peters Way, is setting up shop within the Homebase store at Riverside Retail Park.
The new store is set to open by August, and will offer online shopping in a physical store - an idea already being rolled out across the country.
It will be fully Wi-Fi enabled, and will see Argos' traditional laminated catalogues, paper slips and pencils replaced with tablets, which customers will be able to browse on for products.
Customers will then be able to add items to their online shopping trolley, before deciding if they can have their shopping delivered either on the same or next day.
The rolling out of Argos digital shops in Homebase stores is by Home Retail Group, who owns both the retail giants.
Work started on the signage of the new Argos Riverside store last night, with work on the inside having already been well underway.
